Some Changes and Additions

After a year and three months of the same blog design, it seemed time for a change, despite my Mr. Woodhouse-ish disdain of change in general. As well as a new header and background, I've added three new blog buttons and a new page.

Here's what the old header looked like...
A few of my reader expressed a little sadness at the thought of saying good-bye to that picture (drawn by one of my sisters, by the way), so I've put it on the sidebar.

The new header, for those of you who don't know, is a picture from My Favorite Scene in All Jane Austen Movies and Probably All Period Drama, which is the scene where Emma and Mr. Knightley dance in BBC's 2009 adaptation of Emma. The picture is right when he asks her to dance. Oh, I just love the picture... and the scene... but I'll stop gushing before it becomes the subject of this post. (Hey, maybe I should do that sometime.)

The background I got, in a roundabout way, from Miss Laurie. Thanks, Ladybird! ;-)

These are the three new blog buttons, and they can also be found, along with the others, on my blog buttons page

Regency Delight ~Jane Austen, etc.~

Regency Delight ~Jane Austen, etc.~

(That's where the 'etc.' part of 'Jane Austen, etc.' comes in, as the picture
is from Anne of Green Gables. But I like it.)

Regency Delight ~Jane Austen, etc.~

(This one will only work if you have a slightly larger sidebar.)

And the last addition is the 'My Favorite Music' page. The idea was first put into my head by my Mouse (er, I mean Miss Dashwood) quite some time ago, and after a while I put up a poll on the sidebar about it, and as 20 people were interested, well, there it is. I had great fun making two playlists: one with a lot of soundtrack music, and the other with some Classical pieces. And if you check at some other point, both playlists will probably be longer. ;-) So far everything is instrumental, which I generally prefer, but after a while I might add another playlist with some of my favorite Singing-songs, heehee.

I think that's it! Also, I am excited to have hit my 75 Followers mark. (And now I have 76!) I greatly appreciate all of my readers.

So... what do you think of the newnesses? (I know, that's not a word. But I like to use words that aren't really words, unless they're words that aren't really words but everyone else uses them. Because then I'm just being like everyone else, and that's not very fun. --I also like to ramble...)

Squeal!! I mean, squeak. Tootuz mice squeak. They don't squeal. At least I don't think they do. I should look that up.

Anyways.

I love, love, LOVE the header. And I flatter myself that my advice helped you to decide to use it. :D I just adore that scene and now I feel so happy inside when I view your blog... (more so than usual, that is). And the background is swellissimus indeed! It would be a beautiful pattern for curtains on a canopy bed, don't you think?

YOU'RE READING LITTLE WOMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You sly thing, you didn't even tell me... just waited for me to check your blog, eh? Sneaky. :D

Off to listen to some music... have you enabled comments on the page? Silly question-- I can just go and look.

Thank you, Charity!

Mousie,
I'm glad you love the header! ;-) Heehee yes, sometimes I require you to think for me. ;) Actually the first ide-er I had for a new header was that, and quite a while ago. Sometimes first inspiration is just the best, I guess.
But yes, your advice did help. Because usually you just sort out my own thoughts for me, Twinnie. :D

HAHAHA I was wondering if you would notice that! ;D So of course I couldn't tell you, because then I wouldn't have the fun of seeing what you would do if you DID notice. And anyway, I haven't read very much of it yet... only a chapter and a half. Or something. But that's further than I've gotten other times. *Pancks-snort* I made sure I got a copy I liked this time, heehee.

Oh! Good idea--well, I WOULD enable comments, but I can't figure out how! I know I've seen the option somewhere... shnibly. Help?

Rose,
If you want to allow comments on your pages, click the dropdown button at the bottom of the Page Composition page. (You know, it looks like a post composition, only it's where you write the page.) Anyways, there should be an option for Reader Comments, and by default it selects "don't allow" but you can select "allow" manually.
Let me know if it works!

I'm following Mousie's lead and squealing with delight over your new design! I love your header and the background works so well with it! I love this background and am so glad that it's being put to use! :)

I like your new blog buttons too and I'll have to update the button on my blog later when I check out your music page!

Overall your new design is also quite Spring-ish! :)

Oh, very nice, dear sister! I, too, am a little sad about the old drawing, but I do like this change. :-) Miss Laurie has the best backgrounds, doesn't she? ;-)

Hahahaha, so I assume you changed your header again after this? ;) Too bad, I would have liked to see That Scene in a header...oh, maybe you put it on a blog button! *checks* OH YOU DID. D'awwwww! *puts in on my blog*
Anyways...so this is when you read Little Women, is it? Ahhh, it's such FUN reading old comments....:D
