It's Christmas Once More

Well, this year I had limited time so just kind of threw together my New Christmas Design as quickly as I could.  And--gasp--for the first time ever, none of the pictures on my header are connected to Jane Austen.  Ha.

Now, this is a little more than a "look at my BLOG!" post-- I want to ask for recommendations.  Because when Christmas comes, I like to do Christmassy things.  I alter all my entertainment accordingly.  Music and movies I have pretty well covered, but this year I'm looking for book suggestions.

So, any books you like that are Christmas-themed?  Or set at Christmas with a festive feel?  Anything goes-- I don't mind whether it's adult or children or whatever, so long as it's clean and nice. :)

I have several blog posts in The Plans for this month, so if I can actually get them written... December is always too busy!  But I will definitely make an effort. ;)

    I LOVE your new design, Melody! It's perfectly scrumptious, despite the fact that it hasn't got Jane Austen related pictures on it, heehee.

    I can't think of any really good Christmassy books right now, but if I do, I'll let you know!

    Okay, this one is a children's book so maybe it doesn't count... but did you ever read "The Christmas Day Kitten" by James Herriott? It's quite Cute and Adorable and Christmas-in-England-y. :D

    One favorite Christmas picture book at our house is "Good King Wenceslas" illustrated by Jamichael Henterly. Absolutely gorgeous illustrations... :) Here's a quick link.

    You've probably read this,but "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens is always a good book to read (or re-read) at this time of year.

    Eloise of Westhaven: Love is Patient is a really good book set in Thanksgiving/Christmastime but it's the sequel to Eloise of W.:Not Just a Kid so you'd have to read that first if you wanted the whole story. :)

    Love your blog background! A Christmas book you might enjoy is Louisa May Alcott's Christmas Treasury. It's a few short stories she wrote which are Christmas themed. They're sweet. :)
