Game: A Riddle In Pictures

The inspiration for this came to me a while back, and I thought about suggesting it to Miss Laurie for her weekly games, but then thought, why not do it on my own blog? Because I've never done anything like this, that's why.

But there's always a first time. Besides, people evidently like "random" things. They certainly use the word enough.

So anyways. This is to be a Wordless Riddle. I'm going to have a sequence of pictures here, and you have to Figure It Out. What, exactly, you're supposed to be figuring out, will remain a mystery unless and until you do. And until the Answer post.

To play: Look at the pictures... I'm not saying to what they are related. Then leave your guess in a comment, which I won't publish yet, but will answer to let you know whether or not you're right.

I'll have the riddle up until July 15th, when I will post either the answers and winners or another post with a hint or two. I have no idea how easy or hard this will be for you all, but I'm curious to find out! I'm thinking a lot of you will get it, but we'll see.

I do not wish to be labeled a pirate (although according to Margaret Dashwood in the 1995 version of S&S, piracy is our only option), so after the answer has been revealed, I will link here to where I got all the pictures from, in order from first to last.

In all seriousness, I was contemplating doing this exact. same. thing. I am not even kidding you. You can ask Anne-girl. Only mine was going to be pictures of a whole bunch of songs from musicals, including one of raindrops on a rose. And then peeps would have to guess the song for each picture and the musical it came from.

But SHEESH. Make way for the Tween Express, indubitably.

1- Raindrops on roses
2- Whiskers on kittens
3- Bright copper kettles
4- Warm woolen mittens
5- Brown paper packages tied up with strings
(these are a few of my favorite things... had to pause while I sang that part in my head)

6- Cream colored ponies and
7- Crisp apple strudels
8- Doorbells and
9- Sleighbells and
10- Schnitzel with noodles (do I get a prize for spelling schnitzel correctly?)
11- Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
(pause again... these are a few of my favorite things. Duhn-DUHN, duhn-DUHN!)

12- Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes (awww, adorable picture!)
13- Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
14- Silver white winters that melt into...

...and it ends abruptly. Boo-hoo. No pictures of dog bites or bee stings? Melody, Melody.

Heehee. This was great fun, m'dear.

Heehee, your answer is completely correct, as well as exceedingly amusing. :D What a coincidence! I certainly would have let you use the idea if I knew we'd both had it, haha. But it made me happy that we did. :) And you might get a prize for spelling that word correctly if you were somebody else, LIMM. ;-)

I was going "What! How on earth will I guess!" But since I've had 'My Favorite Things' stuck in my head since I was six, the raindrops on the rose and the whiskers on the kitten gave that all away.

What an interesting idea! I might have to "steal" it now, heehee! :)

The word "random" has recently been added to my pet peeves list (kidding, there isn't an actual list) because I've been hearing it all the time. Also "awkward" and "epic" are words I'm quite frustrated with lately. :(

Okay, so first of all I'm looking at the photos and going "rose, kitten, kettle, mittens. What on earth do these things have in common!" and then it hits me "ah! the song!" so I start singing. :)

The photos you found are wonderful! They fit the words perfectly! My favorite is the "Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes".

You are too clever by half m'dear! Loved this game! :)
I am definitely going to steal your idea if that's okay, I already have a couple ideas for picture puzzles floating in my head right now (yes Mr. Rochester, this head you see before you...errr, don't see before you).

Ugh, I know... random, epic, awesome, awkward, amazing... those are all way over-used.
I DID start making a list of my pet peeves one time. But I have too many to count. :P
